This is getting FREAKISH! Another big blow named Jeanne, and this one decided to make a full turn and thrash us, as though before heading North she exclaimed "What am I doing? I forgot to pound on Florida!"
Oh, well... the plywood never came off of the windows, a new generator and chainsaw were puchased, and the hurricane supplies are still in abundance. It's just one of those years. We are, in fact, a big peninsula that juts into the main path of every disturbance that spools up from the horn of Africa. It's the price you must sometimes pay for living in what I still enthusiastically perceive to be paradise. We love it here, warts and all. But pray for us anyway. We've had some recent visitors, a wonderful and stalwart cohort Brent Kluge from Maryland (pictured here with best chums Jim Timko to the left, and Cecil Sapp to the right) and David Hutsell, a cherished friend and PGA professional. Here are a few very recent (some just hours old) photos of our gorgeous and increasingly animated son. The grandparents came by to say hello today, and gammy got another opportunity to bond with the munchkin. Barb's husband Jack and I played at Victoria Hills this morning, and then they hightailed it back to Lake County to hunker down. We've had such a blast snapping away around Ryan, and he's certainly starting to showboat for the lens. Over the past week or two, his smiles have become quite frequent, and his outfits are outlandishly cute. We just love him to death, and that li'l monkey knows it! Here's a series of pix that illustrate how completely irresistable he is. What a cutey, we could just put 'im on a plate and sop 'im up wit' a biscuit! Well, that's enough to constitute an update. More in the coming days, as our power will allow. God bless those already affected by this storm, and say a prayer for the safety of those still in her path.
